My twin sister Allison and I visit our best friend Anneliese of 35 years every summer who lives in DC. We love exploring the history of the city and especially love visiting Mt. Vernon! Last summer we did the Book of Secrets tour, which was pretty cool to see spots most visitors don’t get to go!! We love the beauty of the grounds and walking the paths filled with history! Meryl Davidson,
My daughter Addison and I are in the picture at Mount Vernon. Last summer we made the trip from N.C. to visit my proud military family at Ft Belvoir. As history buffs, we enjoyed every moment of our visit. The tomb was humbling and George Washington’s home was astounding. We look forward to our next visit. Meryl Davidson, 2019

My wife and I visited Mount Vernon during our vacation to visit our Aunt and Uncle who live in Fairfax. Mount Vernon's Reference Librarian, Samantha Snyder, and I grew up in the same neighborhood together, and our families have remained in contact over the years. We all had a wonderful day with Samantha. Knowing how much of a Presidents fanatic I am, Samantha gave our family a personalized tour which included some very special moments. It's a trip that we will never forget and we are so grateful to Samantha and Mount Vernon for the experience! Dan Starck, 2018

Maggie Hoffer
I first visited Mount Vernon when I was selected for a historic trades internship in 2016. I got to live right next George Washington's estate for three months and watch the sunrise and sunset every morning over the Potomac River. I fell in love with Mount Vernon so much, that my mother and, at the time boyfriend, came down to visit during the 4th of July to watch the fireworks. I was sad to leave Mount Vernon, but little did I know in 2018, my best friend would get down on one knee in front on the mansion and ask me to be his wife during the Christmas celebration. Pictured here is my husband, Curtis. We are both history and antique lovers and visit Mount Vernon when the opportunity arises. This estate will forever have a special place in my heart.
