I was fortunate enough to be selected as GWTI participant in July-August, 2019. This picture resonates with me because it shows the mansion under renovation and therefore that it is very much a living piece of history. Aran Heaney, 2019

We brought our two daughters (ages 12 & 18) to Washington D.C.in April 2018 to see all of the highlights the area has to offer, as we all love American History. Mount Vernon has always been a must-see when my husband and I have visited D.C. in the past, so it was a must for our girls. It captured our hearts to see where the Father of our country lived, to see all of the new renovations, and tour the incredible visitor's center with the amazing "Be Washington Interactive Theatre". We even purchased additional tickets for the "National Treasure Tour" which added some mystery, new facts and gave us a personal connection to the estate. We had a gem of a guide who well-versed in her knowledge of history but also very entertaining to boot! Thank you for preserving Mt. Vernon, where we can all feel so patriotically inspired and empowered by just visiting this magnificent American landmark! Cathy Rudmann, 2018

I am a frequent visitor to Mt. Vernon even though I live on the West Coast. This is a trip I took with my sister Tammy. I am in the photo. Toni Camp, 2017

This picture was taken on June 16, 2019. My son and I traveled to Virginia from Hawaii for a relative's high school graduation. This was our first trip to Virginia, and we made a special visit to Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon is such a beautiful place with so much rich history. We spent several hours here, but I would love to visit again. Thank you for preserving this wonderful place. Teszra Kang, 2019

This was actually my second visit to Mount Vernon, but my first to share it with my two adult daughters Courtney and Jordan. All three of us are lovers of American history, and we each had to fly from different parts of the country to share this experience (Little Rock, Chicago and San Diego). A highlight for all of us other than walking thru the mansion itself, was to happen upon a wreathlaying ceremony at the Slave Memorial, which was attended by many descendants of the actual slaves who lived at Mount Vernon. It truly was a great experience to share with them. James Ballentine, 2019

Diane Gettys,
This photo was taken June 2013. This is my son Matthew, who was 8 years old when we brought him to Mount Vernon. He was very interested in the Presidents at the time, and loved his visit. I have been to Mount Vernon 4 times myself, and continue learn and see with each visit. I look forward to our next visit, and am currently enjoying following MV via twitter and the website. Thank You!! Diane Gettys, 2013

June 29, 2019. A magnificent sunset, right before the fireworks. It was our first time visiting Mount Vernon as a family. What a meaningful evening! Giles Asselin, 2019

Our son absolutely loves spending time at Mount Vernon, especially with the animals! It’s hard to peel him away from his farm friends but we enjoy showing him all the wonderful things around the estate. We can’t wait to come back and come together soon. Hale Allegretti, 2019

We had out of town company visiting and I had just had foot surgery. We wanted to make sure they could enjoy the wonderful experience at Mount Vernon, so we loaded me and the rest of the group and came for a special visit. I sat on George and Martha's front porch looking at the beautiful Potomac while they toured the Mansion. Lysa Cockram, 2016

I love the landscape so I took a picture of this tree which I believe is no longer on the property due to it getting hit by lightning. It was just a lovely tree which I think George and Martha enjoyed seeing with the Potomac River in background. Mary Jo Feuling, 2012
