Gemma Rose
Ssgt James Burton Moore and Gemma Rose are featured in this photo. Gemma at the time was in school for her Masters in Library Information Science and majored in archiving. She asked James if he would take her there because she wanted to use the new AI Mount Vernon just launched the week prior. Sadly due to poor weather they were unable to use the new technology. But even in the freezing rain they both still had a wonderful time touring the house and talking with docents. Gemma Rose, 2019

My wife and I were out there December 13, 2019, for the Mt Vernon by Candle Light Tour. It was a foggy night, and you could see the light coming out of the front of the mansion, cutting through it. Brent McDonald, 2019

We visit often, as we are neighborhood friends and members of Mount Vernon. This is one of our favorite memories of Zachary meeting some of the soldiers of the Continental Army in October of 2007. Naheed Cabana, 2007

We regularly visit Mount Vernon and are so appreciative of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association and all that they have done, and are doing, to preserve, restore, and manage the estate. It's difficult to choose our favorite time of the year to visit, but our daughter especially loves to visit during the Christmas season so she can see Aladdin the camel. Here is a photo of her with her two Aladdins! Ken Rodriguez, 2018

Attending a Teacher Fellowship (a remarkable opportunity in itself), I got to spend the evenings on the property. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was sipping Madeira on the back porch overlooking the Potomac! Never forget this! Kenneth Blum, 2017

this was our second trip to Mount Vernon. The first time it was just my husband and I. This time was with my teenagers. I love it so much and my husband knows it. There is something that draws me there. So it's tough living in Missouri. Pamela Beste, 2019
