We brought our two daughters (ages 12 & 18) to Washington D.C.in April 2018 to see all of the highlights the area has to offer, as we all love American History. Mount Vernon has always been a must-see when my husband and I have visited D.C. in the past, so it was a must for our girls. It captured our hearts to see where the Father of our country lived, to see all of the new renovations, and tour the incredible visitor's center with the amazing "Be Washington Interactive Theatre". We even purchased additional tickets for the "National Treasure Tour" which added some mystery, new facts and gave us a personal connection to the estate. We had a gem of a guide who well-versed in her knowledge of history but also very entertaining to boot! Thank you for preserving Mt. Vernon, where we can all feel so patriotically inspired and empowered by just visiting this magnificent American landmark! Cathy Rudmann, 2018

In 2017 my 2 kids were living in NC with their dad and it was a big change for all of us. Their step dad Ron and I flew out there, picked them up in a rented car and spent a great spring break in DC. The tornado hit the tidal basin the night we arrived! The icing on our trip cake was visiting Mount Vernon. We wanted to understand Washington better and see what captivated his heart the way Mt Vernon did. Laura Dalrymple, 2017

Attending a Teacher Fellowship (a remarkable opportunity in itself), I got to spend the evenings on the property. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was sipping Madeira on the back porch overlooking the Potomac! Never forget this! Kenneth Blum, 2017

I had a spare day to spend on a trip to Northern Virginia for my cousin's wedding. I chose to spend it with one of my favorite people of all time, George Washington. Joel Sawyer, 2017

My brother and his family were visiting my mom over Christmas. I suggested we go to Mount Vernon (I'm the picture taker!). It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed meeting Aladdin the camel and viewing the mansion decorations. Mount Vernon is lovely to visit in any season. Margo Cunniffe, 2016

We were at Mt. Vernon on Feb.12, 2020. We retired in Oct. of 2019, and hit the road to historical sites. We loved Mount Vernon. Your wonderful fifer played Nothing Could Be Finer than to be in Carolina when he found out we were from S.C. We loved the restaurant you have. We actually ate there two evenings. My husband is in the picture. Your museum is awesome!

On October 25, 2015, our family went trick-or-treating at Mount Vernon. The estate is absolutely beautiful in the fall and we had a wonderful time taking a wagon ride, visiting the outbuildings, meeting Lady Washington, and playing on the lawn. These are my daughters, Daphne Taylor, who was seven at the time and dressed as Ben Gunn from "Treasure Island", and Vivian Taylor, who was six and dressed as Mavis Dracula from "Hotel Transylvania."
