This is a photo of my Mother-in-Law who visited Mount Vernon while in Washington DC on her honeymoon. She grew up off of Vernon Avenue in Long Island City, New York, which was named after the same Admiral Vernon. Little did she know her son would be living on what was once part of Mount Vernon.
