My first trip to Mount Vernon. I was visiting my brother in law in Vienna VA and we made a day trip to Mount Vernon. I was greatly impressed especially with the fact Mount Vernon is completely privately funded. I want to return and dine in the on-site restaurant. I have heard really good things about it. We are so grateful to live on land originally owned by George Washington (Union Farm), just up from his estate, where we have the opportunity to introduce all our friends to our founding father and his amazing history. These are special friends, Ankica and Miso, whom we came to love while we were living in Croatia. They were thrilled to visit Mount Vernon and learn more of the our nation's history. Since I retired to Maryland from upstate New York in 2012 and became a member of Mount Vernon, we come several times a year to enjoy Mount Vernon in all seasons, especially when we have visitors. Here, my granddaughter Ciera and her husband Jon visiting from New York, with my great-grandson Kohen, and my Maryland granddaughter Cecilia.
